With the sweltering heat of Los Angeles, celebrities are doing whatever it takes to stay cool.  And yesterday (September 8), Jessica Alba ducked inside a coffee shop to enjoy the air conditioning and pick up an icy cool beverage.

The “Fantastic Four” hottie was spotted driving her Yukon Hybrid on Melrose Avenue before heading into Kaffee Wien for an iced coffee.  While waiting for her beverage, Jess rustled through her purse, trying to make sense of the clutter.

And it sounds like the “Good Luck Chuck” mommy is beginning to take on more movie roles.  In addition to her “Sin City 2” gig, Alba has signed on to star in the modern fable “An Invisible Sign of My Own.”

The film will be based on a screenplay by Pam Falk and Mike Ellis called “The Wedding Planner,” that revolves around a young woman who retreats from the world and is obsessed with numbers and math.  Her life starts to change when she gets a job as a second grade math teacher.
